how great thou art

This one kicks off our stewardship series. It introduces our theme, A Chorus of Generosity, while also talking about Jesus’ challenging words about the cost of discipleship. 

the one where Garth Brooks shows up

This one is about Jesus being a bit of a party pooper, at least according to the World’s standards. Rev. Will talks about how Jesus keeps company with those in low places. The text of the day was Luke 14:1, 7-14. 

right in front of our faces

This one is about Jesus’ refusal to let rules and propriety get in the way of bringing the Kingdom of God to people who need it. The text was Luke 13:10-17. 

the fire of freedom

This one deals with some sayings of Jesus that could be potentially misinterpreted. In it, Rev. Will talks about Jesus’ want to give the Holy Spirit so would experience grace, mercy, and freedom. The text was Luke 12:49-56. 

God’s delight to give

This one is about how Jesus offers good news amid anxiety and worry, that God’s attitude toward us is one of delight and grace. The text is Luke 12:32-40. 

the gift of prayer

This one is about The Lord’s Prayer and how it shows us what we get wrong with prayer. Because it was our Christmas in July, there’s a Christmas tinge to the sermon too. The text of the day was Luke 11:1-13.

just relax, right?

This one is how we want to justify ourselves. In it Rev. Will talks about how Martha used her service and care of Jesus to do so. The text of the day was Luke 10:38-42. 

packing for the trip

In this devotion, Rev. Will talks the time Jesus gave his disciples a “do not bring list” for their trip. 

nose on the grindstone of the cross

This one concludes our sermon series through Galatians. In it, Rev. Will talks about Paul’s words to not grow weary doing good. He also brings up a Tyler Childers’ song.
